About the Artist
Hi, I’m Veronica — but you can call me Roni.

I’m a graphic designer who is a mom to a wildly imaginative three-year-old old soul, and a proud Flint local. My son inspires me daily to be better, to stay curious, and to never stop growing. I’ve been playing roller derby for nearly a decade, and it’s more than just a sport to me — it’s been a lifeline. Flint Roller Derby is where I learned how to live sober, how to be part of something bigger than myself, and how to grow from my mistakes. It taught me how to give and receive feedback, show up for others, and understand what it means to work for the greater good.

I’m also a recovering addict and alcoholic — and that recovery journey has deeply shaped who I am and how I move through the world. At 21, I learned hard but beautiful lessons about selflessness, forgiveness, and accountability. These lessons live in my art. My work centers around advocacy — giving voice and visibility to those often overlooked or misrepresented. I want to use my creativity to tell real stories, to show people they’re seen and heard, and to remind them that it’s okay to be exactly who they are.
